Quicksilver brings together leading historically-informed performers in America today. Led by violinists Robert Mealy and Julie Andrijeski, this ensemble explores the rich chamber music repertoire of the early modern period, from the strange and extravagant trio sonatas of the Italian and German seventeenth century to the spectacular chamber music of the High Baroque. Quicksilver has been featured in concert series by the Boston Early Music Festival, Early Music Vancouver, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center and Madison Early Music, with upcoming engagements in San Francisco, Berkeley, Boston, New York City and Washington D.C. Quicksilver’s debut recording, “Stile Moderno: new music from the seventeenth century” has met with critical acclaim, described by the Huffington Post as “Breakthrough Album of the Year” and Fanfare Magazine as “technically expert, flexible in phrasing, and stylish in ornamentation, fully aware of this music’s rich sense of theatre.”
